Docky ur Applications !!

It is a myth that Linux didtro's don't have cool and awesome look and feel !!

U just have to get it ...to use it and it is not that hard..

The out of the box way is the only way [Mac,Win] but i like to choose my stuff.

Like this wonderful Dock application Docky

Its lightweight ,easy to install , very simple and intuitive.

I just love it.

Docky tweak menu provides you with a wide range of customization options.

special mention to Window Dodge and Intellihide really useful and supremely 'COOL'.

Steps to install Docky :

Get the latest version from Docky-Core PPA

Open up terminal and fire the command :

$$# sudo add-apt-repository ppa:docky-core/ppa

Now all you need to do is update the repository and install docky

$$#  sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install docky

Now find Docky under Applications- Accessories- Docky

Have fun ........ 

lot of add-ons to docky but will get to that later .....

Unity doesn't really work here !!!

I love Ubuntu .
I used to say it proudly and loudly till UNITY showed up.
I was having quite nice relation with ubuntu .
We had been having an affair for quite a while now . She was all i ever asked.
she gave me choice , freedom , she followed everything that i asked of her .
She just did things without  being fussy, never displayed any bad attitude by throwing unwanted dialog boxes with unreal error messages and obscure error codes.
It was a match made in heaven.
But then all good things do tend to come to an end.
Ubuntu took it to her heart after the parents divorce <canonical has changed a lot>.
It became nasty and ugly.
I dig all the reasons why unity was developed, But having said that, for an advanced and old ubuntu user like me Unity is like ugly giant pimple  on a beautiful face.
I seriously doubt if new users of ubuntu find it easy , I sure dont  !!
But even then ubuntu i love you and will always do !!

Lately i have been having dreams about opensuse  as well mostly because of its out of the box option of KDE or GNOME and it doesn't have unity .

 You are still my #1 maverick chick  but for how long ...... ??
